I sort of stumbled upon being a hairstylist.. My love for Aveda products is what got me started and as it turns out I have a love for doing hair. I trained at the Aveda institute in Victoria in 2001 and never looked back; I had found my career. Since then I have continued to grow in all aspects of my career but especially in my ability to listen and understand what it is people are really wanting to achieve with their hair. Keeping things current is very important to me and changing things just slightly so people always feel refreshed is a challenge I love. I have a passion for people and making them happy, be it through an amazing cut, fantastic color or a new recipe for dinner. Being able to do all of this using products that are making a difference in the world is ideal. I am so proud of the salon and all the people who work in it, we create a welcoming environment with exceptional talent that I'm sure will exceed anyone's expectations.
I am passionate about well being starting from the inside out. I believe when you feel good from the inside it radiates outward. When I started my training with Aveda in 2003 I immediately felt aligned with wellness and beauty through the philosophy and techniques I was learning. Since then I have continued my education in order to stay updated on the latest trends. I value getting to know you in order to create a style that allows you to look and feel your best.
Following in the footsteps of my Grandparents, you could say that hairstyling is in my blood. I graduated from the Paul Da Costa Institute in 1997, and have been with Aveda ever since. Being in the Aveda network has provided me with the opportunity to attend advanced education from some of our industries top ranked professionals in hair cutting and colouring. Because every guest that sits in my chair is unique and special, my goal is to create a calm and comfortable experience where we work together to create a style that best suits your hair, styling experience and lifestyle. Building an individual relationship with each guest leads to a positive experience and a creative outcome. There is nothing better than making someone feel like a million bucks!!
I started hair school in 2003 at the Advanced School of Hair Design in Victoria, after deciding at age 4 that I wanted to be a hair stylist. Once completed, I obtained my red seal license in Toronto while studying makeup at SOMA and George Brown. Continuing to educate myself at Vidal Sassoon in California and a multitude of institutes in New York, I have worked with Aveda for the past decade. I find Aveda helps me bring out my client's natural beauty and best features. I love making a difference in peoples day with the pampering and change they need.
Originally from Austin, TX, I began my career as a stylist after graduating from the Aveda Institute Victoria in 2007. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to attend Aveda Master Jam in Victoria and continue my education both here on the island and at the Advanced Academy in Vancouver.
My love for doing hair and the people in my chair took on new meaning when I began volunteering my styling services at Our Place in 2012 and 2013. I love being a part of an industry that creates confidence and lets people express who they are as individuals. It’s my pleasure to create a comfortable and relaxing environment while helping guests create the look they want.
I love making our guests feel right at home from the second they step foot in the salon. Let me help you with just about anything; whether its booking your next appointment, addressing any hair/skin care concerns or simply hanging your jacket. My job is all about keeping you comfortable, supporting our amazing team of stylists and all the little things in between. One of my favorite things daily is connecting and building relationships with our clients who quickly become our friends. I want to help you feel organized and well taken care of whenever you're visiting us at Wiink2.
